Jmart is our latest supermarket client who is located in Papua New Guinea. Jmart wanted to be the best supermarket/department store in Papua New Guinea. Adapting a hypermarket format, Jmart succeeded in making its store to be the most modern store in Papua New Guinea. The setting include a meat & vegetable section, food court, phone kiosk, bottle shop and pharmacy.
The challenge in Jmart was to ensure that the system can handle high volume transaction both in the normal lane and the foodcourt section. Jmart also needed to manage the promotion, price changes, stocktake and receiving control using handheld scanners.
For the hardware EASI chose to offer the Any Place POS to give a modern look to both the lanes and counters. With small footprint and very sturdy touch screen, IBM Any Place Kiosk proved to be a very good choice. The scanners used is a multi lined Magellan scanner to ensure that scanning can be fast
Installed on the IBM Any Place POS is the EASIPOS Supermarket Edition, which had some fast keys/hot keys customized for each of the relevant section e.g. foodcourt, phone, lanes.
On the back end, EASI installed the EASIRETAIL Backoffice Edition, to handle all data management and inventory control. With ease of use, the implementation period can be reduced down to a few weeks.
The next step for Jmart is to install a datacenter for its head office to control both the new supermarket and the old supermarket branch to incorporate a centralized purchasing. Other projects on the pipeline will be to integrate the EASI CRM with the EASIRETAIL Enterprise Solution. This will allow Jmart to monitor its promotion campaigns and gain loyalty from its customers.
